MP Wamuchomba Condemns Nightclub for Dressing Staff as Schoolgirls
Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has slammed a nightclub for having waitresses dressed in primary school uniforms.
On social media on Saturday, August 16, the vocal MP said the trend is disturbing and normalizes the sexualization of children.
“I’m not a moral cop but where do we draw the line between marketing and morals? Using school uniforms on call girls to attract club goers crosses that line,” Wamuchomba said.
She said school uniforms are more than clothes; they represent innocence, learning and dependency.
Wamuchomba said portraying waitresses as schoolgirls blurs the line between children and sex objects.
“This actually encourages child sex fantasies which can lead to rapes and defilement. It gives predators an opportunity to condition children mentally which can lead to real life abuse,” she said.
“Given the rise in incest, sexual assaults and molestation cases we cannot play with symbols that incite abusers to exploit children,” she added.
She called on authorities to act fast.
“This club must be called to order now,” Wamuchomba said.
