Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka has arrived in London for high-level engagements centred on Kenya’s economic partnerships, investment opportunities and the opposition’s policy agenda ahead of the August 2027 General Election.
Kalonzo arrived in the United Kingdom on Monday, October 12, 2026, and attended an evening reception at the House of Commons, where he served as the chief guest.
According to a statement from his party, the visit aims to strengthen trade and investment ties between Kenya, the United Kingdom and the wider East African region, while providing an international platform to present the opposition’s priorities ahead of the next general election.
“Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) and The Ukombozi Alliance (TUA) Party Leader, H.E. Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, EGH, SC, has arrived in London, United Kingdom, for an official programme focused on strengthening economic partnerships and advancing opportunities for investment in Kenya and the wider East African region,” the party said.
Kalonzo attends House of Commons reception
The opposition leader’s first major engagement was an evening reception at the House of Commons hosted by the Westminster Africa Business Group in partnership with the Eastern Africa Association.
The event was hosted by Conservative MP Sir Gavin Williamson, chair of the Westminster Africa Business Group, under the theme “Kenya as a Regional Financial Hub and the Future of East African Capital Markets.”
Discussions centred on Kenya’s role as a regional financial centre, strategies for mobilising African capital to finance development, and opportunities to expand trade and investment between Kenya and international partners.
The gathering brought together stakeholders interested in deepening economic cooperation and exploring Kenya’s potential to attract investment.
The discussions come as countries across East Africa seek to mobilise financing for development projects while strengthening commercial links with international markets.
Kalonzo to present opposition agenda at Chatham House
Kalonzo is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at Chatham House, a London-based international affairs think tank, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

His address, titled “The Opposition’s Outlook and Policy Agenda on the Road to 10 August 2027,” is expected to outline the opposition’s policy priorities as Kenya moves towards the next general election.
The engagement will provide an opportunity for Kalonzo to present his political outlook and the opposition’s proposed direction to an international audience.
The address follows the House of Commons reception, which focused on economic cooperation, financial markets and investment opportunities.
Together, the two engagements place economic diplomacy and Kenya’s evolving political agenda at the centre of Kalonzo’s London visit.
Wiper outlines purpose of London visit
Wiper Patriotic Front spokesperson Ndegwa Njiru said the engagements reflect the party leader’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships and advancing Kenya’s economic prospects.
According to the party, the programme is intended to promote cooperation with international partners while creating an opportunity to present the opposition’s policy agenda.
The visit comes as political parties and leaders prepare for the August 10, 2027 General Election, with economic policy, investment and governance expected to feature in the wider political debate.
Kalonzo’s scheduled Chatham House address will offer a further opportunity for him to set out the opposition’s outlook and priorities as the country approaches the polls.
