At the centre of the latest developments is a petrol station security guard who says he witnessed the former lawmaker’s final movements moments before the collision.

A boda boda rider told Daily Nation that he encountered the vehicle at around 1.30am, when it briefly stopped near a hotel in Naivasha and a woman alighted from the front passenger seat.

Muthoni, who recently completed a record-breaking 72-hour continuous tree hug, asked President Ruto, “So I hugged a tree for seventy-two hours, and how long can you go?”

The latest findings directly challenge earlier media reports and official statements, reframing the incident as a multi-stage crash rather than a single head-on collision.
