Caleb Amisi Announces Linda Mwananchi Rally in Emurua Dikirr to Honour Johanna Ng’eno
Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has announced that the next Linda Mwananchi rally will be held in Emurua Dikirr, in honour of the late politician Johanna Ng’eno.
The rally, part of the faction’s ongoing “Meet the People” tour, is expected to bring together leaders and residents for open discussions about governance and the challenges facing the country.
Amisi revealed that the event will serve not only as a political engagement platform but also as a moment to remember Ng’eno, who died in a tragic plane crash in Nandi County.
Taking to social media on Friday, March 6, 2026, the legislator emphasized that the gathering would give citizens a chance to hear candid conversations about the state of the nation.
“The next Linda Mwananchi meet the people tour will be in Emurua Dikirr. And we shall tell the people nothing but the truth! Rest in peace, our comrade Sir Johanna Ng’eno! Kenya needs a renaissance!” Amisi stated.
Amisi described Ng’eno as a passionate advocate for the rights of ordinary Kenyans, noting that holding the rally in Emurua Dikirr would be both a tribute to his life and a continuation of the ideals he stood for.
According to the MP, the event will remain inclusive, allowing citizens to freely express their concerns while leaders present ideas and solutions that directly affect communities.
The Rise of the Linda Mwananchi Movement
The Linda Mwananchi faction has grown into one of the most visible political movements within Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
The group is led by Edwin Sifuna alongside other influential lawmakers, including James Orengo, Babu Owino, Godfrey Osotsi, and Amisi himself.
Through a series of rallies across counties such as Busia County, Kitengela, Kakamega County, and Ugunja, the movement has consistently called for greater accountability, transparency in leadership, and stronger protection of citizen rights.
Leaders within the faction say their aim is to “tell the people the truth” about governance issues while giving Kenyans an opportunity to directly question their representatives.
ODM Divisions Come Into Focus
The rise of the Linda Mwananchi movement has also exposed growing divisions within ODM.
Some members of the faction have openly criticized leaders within the party who are exploring collaboration with President William Ruto and his ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Sifuna and his allies argue that ODM should remain firmly in opposition, warning that cooperation with the government could dilute the party’s role as a watchdog.
Meanwhile, another faction within the party, associated with Oburu Oginga and often referred to as the Linda Ground faction, appears more open to consolidating ODM structures and pursuing strategic alliances, including possible engagement with the executive.
The disagreement has fueled speculation about the party’s direction as Kenya gradually moves toward the 2027 general elections.
Political Significance of the Upcoming Rally
The upcoming Emurua Dikirr rally is expected to attract significant political attention.
For the Linda Mwananchi faction, it represents both a tribute to Johanna Ng’eno and a continuation of their grassroots engagement strategy. By holding rallies across the country, the group aims to maintain a strong connection with ordinary citizens while positioning itself as a voice for accountability in national leadership.
Observers say the movement’s activities could play a key role in shaping political alignments ahead of the next electoral cycle.
