DNA SHOCKER: Only 4 of 9 Kids Were Fathered by Deceased MP Muhammad Ssegirinya

Only 4 of 9 Kids Were Fathered by Deceased MP Muhammad Ssegirinya

Kampala, Uganda | June 30, 2025 — It was drama and shock emanating from the family of Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya following his demise after DNA tests revealed that only four out of nine children who had claimed to be his biological children are indeed so.

The stunning revelation rocked the late MP’s reputation and ignited a firestorm of controversy, with females who came out stating children are now embarrassed in public and in the media spotlight of law. The DNA results were produced by the MP’s long-time personal assistant Alex Lusswa Luwemba, who said only Nagirinya Aaliyah, Sharifah Nagirinya, Shifrah Nagirinya, and Ivan are biologically connected to the late legislator.

“The whole situation looked suspicious, especially when women began fighting over his property even before we buried him. It was heartless,” said a visibly disturbed Luwemba.

Perhaps the most scandalous expose cost Twahirah Akandinda Ssegirinya her life; she was 30 and boldly presented herself as the widow of the MP. She had two children that she claimed were the late politician’s. But DNA results were categorical: the two children were not his.

Another petitioner, Nalongo Joy of Matugga, asserted that her nine-month-old infant had been born after Ssegirinya had been freed from detention on his birthday in 2023. Her story too fell apart under inspection — the DNA report had a different opinion.

The drama that surrounded the last days of Ssegirinya has cast a dark shadow on the days he battled a terminal illness that claimed his life on 9th January 2025, at Lubaga Hospital, where he had been admitted since the close of December 2024.

The MP’s death initiated a frantic scramble for his property, and women flooded what appeared to be from nowhere with children they claimed were his — some going so far as to fight in public even prior to his burial.

To add insult to injury, it has also been confirmed that Ssegirinya died intestate — without a will. Legal action is currently underway. Prominent lawyer Medard Lubega Ssegona is spearheading the exercise to seek letters of administration to protect what remains of the late MP’s property and ensure only the four established children benefit.

The scandal has elicited outrage and disbelief on social media, with users responding in horror at the scale of dishonesty that has engulfed the tainted MP.

As the law runs its course and reputations are torn asunder, the Ssegirinya estate drama is far from over. Additional secrets — and more drama — may be yet to emerge.
