France Govt Announces Eiffel International Scholarships Worth up to €2,100 Monthly

The French government has announced a new round of scholarships under the France Excellence Eiffel program created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to attract top students from around the world to study in France.

The program is open to both Master’s and Doctoral students and provides financial support and living allowance for international students in French universities.

The program focuses on two main fields: Science and Technology—Biology and Health, Ecological Transition, Mathematics and Digital, Engineering Sciences—and Humanities and Social Sciences—History, French Language and Civilization, Law and Political Science, Economics and Management.

At the Master’s level, students can apply for programs up to 24 months or 36 months for engineering degrees. For Doctoral students, scholarships are for 12 to 36 months and all programs start on September 1 of the award year.

One of the best part of the scholarship is the monthly stipend. Master’s students will receive €1,200 (Ksh181,788) and doctoral candidates will get €2,100 (Ksh318,129) per month starting January 2026. In addition, the package covers international and domestic travel, health insurance, housing allowance and access to cultural activities. However, tuition fees are the responsibility of the student.

To apply, candidates must first contact Campus France in their home country or the French Embassy’s Cooperation and Cultural Action Department. French universities will then evaluate and submit applications on behalf of the students. Direct applications by students or foreign institutions are not accepted.

France’s program adds to the many opportunities for international students to study abroad, especially in Europe.
