Gachagua Predicts Ruto Will Finish 4th in 2027 Polls, Says Support Has Evaporated

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made a bold statement about the 2027 General Election saying President William Ruto will finish fourth. Gachagua says Ruto’s support has dwindled and he is vulnerable ahead of the next poll.

Speaking in Seattle, USA, Gachagua dismissed Ruto’s relevance and said even if he forms a coalition with ODM leader Raila Odinga, he won’t save him.

“If they contest together, even with Raila on the same ticket, we’ll beat them 70%+1,” Gachagua said, saying both leaders are disconnected from the people.

Positioning himself as a key player for 2027, Gachagua is confident the opposition has gained ground across the country. He downplayed Raila’s current role in government, saying he is blindly backing a regime that doesn’t engage with the people’s concerns.

He referred to Raila’s recent criticism of the government’s shoot-to-kill directive and asked its sincerity.

“I saw Raila condemn the shoot-to-kill order but how can he when Ruto is his partner? Why speak to him through the media? They’re brothers. Sit down and talk. Kenyans are not fools,” Gachagua said. He accused Raila of political theatrics to mislead Kenyans about his role in government.

Gachagua also claimed Raila has lost influence in his strongholds following his truce with Ruto. He said Raila no longer has full support in Nyanza and other regions that were once loyal to him have defected.

“Raila brings nothing to the table. The Kambas, Kisiis, Luhyas and Maasais who supported him have left. Even the Luo nation is divided. So even if they unite, we’ll still beat them 70%+1,” Gachagua said.

The former DP said even if Raila contests again, it will only show how weak Ruto’s support base has become.

“If Raila runs, Ruto will be number four. Either way we are okay. It’s one term. The people of Kenya have made their decision and nothing will change that,” he concluded.
