KNEC Releases March 2026 Business and Technical Exam Results, Gives Collection Guidelines

KNEC Releases March 2026 Business and Technical Exam Results as Candidates Face Fee Clearance Condition

Thousands of candidates who sat the March 2026 Business and Technical examinations can now access their results after the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) officially announced their release.

In a notice issued on Monday, July 13, KNEC confirmed that the results are ready for collection and directed Heads of Institutions to pick them up physically from the New Mitihani House offices in South C, Nairobi, during official working hours.

The examination council said institutions can collect the results on weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

“KNEC wishes to inform all Heads of Institutions that the March 2026 Business and Technical examination results are officially released. Results are ready for collection at New Mitihani House, South C Offices on weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm,” the council said in its notice.

Candidates Must Clear Outstanding Fees

While announcing the release, KNEC warned that candidates with outstanding examination fee arrears will not receive their results until all pending balances have been settled.

The council urged Heads of Institutions to ensure all examination fees are cleared before collecting the results and reminded them that any concerns regarding grades or results must be submitted within the stipulated period.

“Please ensure all examination fees are cleared prior to collection. Result queries must be submitted online by Heads of Institutions within 30 days. Queries received after 9th August 2026 will attract a fee of Kshs.5,000,” KNEC stated.

According to the council, all result queries must be lodged exclusively through its online Query Management Information System (QMIS). Institutions that fail to submit appeals within 30 days of the results’ release will be required to pay a KSh5,000 late-query fee.

How to Access the Results

KNEC clarified that individual candidates cannot collect results directly from the council. Instead, Heads of Institutions are responsible for collecting the official results before releasing them to candidates after confirming that all financial obligations have been met.

The council also directed institutions to channel all official result queries through its online QMIS portal, in line with its examination regulations.

Who Sits the Business and Technical Examinations?

The Business and Technical examinations are administered by KNEC for learners enrolled in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across Kenya.

Candidates include trainees from National Polytechnics, Technical Training Institutes, Vocational Training Centres and other middle-level colleges pursuing diploma, certificate and artisan qualifications after completing either primary or secondary education.

The examinations cater for several categories of learners, including institutional candidates following the standard KNEC curriculum, artisan trainees undertaking practical trade courses, as well as single-subject and group candidates who complete their qualifications progressively through Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced levels.

Although KNEC has not disclosed the total number of candidates who sat the March 2026 examinations, the Business and Technical assessment remains one of the country’s largest TVET examination programmes, with 43,322 candidates having sat a comparable examination series in 2024.
