Nakuru High School to Host National Student Leaders and Prefects Mentorship Program on May 24, 2026.
Nakuru High School has announced a National Student Leaders and Prefects Mentorship Program scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 24, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the school’s premises along Nakuru–Bahati Road.
The mentorship seminar will bring together student leaders and prefects from Junior Schools, Senior Schools, and High Schools across the country for a one-day leadership training and mentorship session.
Speakers and Facilitators
The mentorship program will feature several education leaders, mentors, and media personalities who are expected to guide students on leadership, discipline, and academic excellence.
Among the invited speakers are:

- Tomkim Baraza – Event Coordinator
- John Ole Kuyo – Chief Principal, Nakuru High School
- Kamau Chomba – Chief Principal, Alliance High School
- Mutali Chesebe – Chief Principal, Tenwek High School
- Benson Malata – Academic Mentor
The Nakuru County Director of Education and other leaders are expected to participate in the mentorship discussions.
Key Areas of Training
Students attending the seminar will be taken through several thematic leadership and mentorship sessions, including:
- Balancing leadership responsibilities with academic excellence.
- Priorities of an excellent leader and how to become an effective and dependable prefect.
- How to gather information from fellow students in order to instill discipline.
- Preparing students to become future national and international leaders and game changers in the 21st century.
- Promoting discipline among fellow students and developing responsible student leadership skills.
Participation and Registration Details
The program is open to prefects and student leaders from:
- Primary Schools
- Junior Schools
- Senior Schools
- High Schools

Each participating school will be required to register students at a fee of KSh 500 per student, with a minimum requirement of 10 student leaders per institution. Schools have also been encouraged to send as many prefects as possible.
Schools will be responsible for arranging lunch for their prefects, while lunch will be provided for accompanying teachers. Students have additionally been advised to carry writing materials during the seminar.
