Nigerian preacher Primate Elijah Ayodele has issued a fresh warning to President William Ruto, predicting renewed youth-led protests and heightened political tension that could complicate the President’s re-election bid in 2027.

The Nigerian prophet said Ruto should remain on high alert, claiming that another major wave of demonstrations could emerge as young Kenyans continue to demand political change.
In a statement sent on Sunday, September 13, Ayodele warned that the protests could trigger wider political turmoil and even shootings, potentially creating confusion around the 2027 election period.
“A protest is coming to embarrass and cause confusion for the second-term ambition of President Ruto. He must not sleep and must be ready for more turbulence,” Ayodele said.
He added: “Let them watch out for political tension and shootings. The youths will still organise another heavy protest to demand Ruto’s exit.”
Ayodele Warns of Political ‘Blackmail’
The leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church also claimed that some politicians could attempt to blackmail the President, urging Ruto to be particularly cautious when dealing with religious institutions and issues surrounding Kenya’s economic development.
“Ruto will face a lot of political crises; some politicians want to blackmail Ruto. He must be careful with religious institutions and economic development,” he claimed.

Ayodele’s latest prediction comes amid continued political debate over the direction of Kenya ahead of the 2027 General Election, with youth activism and opposition mobilisation remaining significant issues in the country’s political landscape.
The warning also follows a series of previous prophecies by the Nigerian cleric concerning Ruto’s presidency.
Earlier Warning Predicted Protests Could ‘Destroy’ Ruto Government
In June, Ayodele warned of increasing political pressure on the President, pointing to possible protests, opposition manoeuvres and a potentially volatile political environment.
In his earlier message, he said Kenya was entering a particularly sensitive period in which opposition forces could adopt unexpected strategies to challenge Ruto’s administration.
“Kenya: The country will face various challenges, especially for the president. The opposition will stand out to see if they bring a shocking strategy against Ruto. If Ruto isn’t careful, these protests will destroy his government,” he said.
He also claimed opposition leaders would explore new political strategies aimed at weakening Ruto’s political standing, potentially altering the balance of power ahead of the 2027 contest.
In April, Ayodele similarly warned of growing pressure on the President, citing attempts by opposition figures to build a stronger political coalition capable of challenging Ruto’s dominance.
Prophet Expands Warning Across Africa
Ayodele’s latest message was not limited to Kenya. He also issued predictions concerning several other African countries, including Guinea, Botswana, Namibia and Tanzania.
In Tanzania, he urged President Samia Suluhu Hassan to pray against what he described as a painful political setback.
The prophet claimed that despite the Tanzanian President’s efforts, some sections of the public could turn against her and that political opponents could seek to undermine her achievements and future ambitions.
“Tanzania: With all the efforts of the president, people will not appreciate her efforts. She has done well, but people will not see it,” he said.

He further claimed that some individuals were planning to discredit the Tanzanian leader and urged her to remain cautious about developments within the country’s political landscape.
Ayodele’s latest remarks are predictions rather than established events, but they are likely to attract attention in Kenya as political parties, opposition figures and youth movements begin positioning themselves for the increasingly competitive 2027 election battle.
