5 Teachers at Loreto High School Limuru Under Probe of Sexual Misconduct Allegations, TSC to Step in.

Former students of Loreto High School, Limuru, have officially raised allegations of sexual assault and grooming against 5 staff members. This comes days after similar allegations were made by alumni of Alliance Girls High School.

In a notice dated 11th July 2025, the Loreto Limuru Alumni Association reported that complaints of inappropriate conduct by certain staff members were raised during a recent Board of Management meeting held at the school. Two former students attended the meeting and directly accused 5 individuals of grooming students.

The school administration confirmed that investigations have already begun and the accused staff members have been summoned. It was resolved that the implicated individuals will go through formal disciplinary process under TSC as per the laid down procedures.

The Board of Management agreed to put in place additional mechanisms for reporting abuse. This includes installing more suggestion boxes at strategic points in the school to enable students and staff to report in confidence.

“All those who have been affected by the said staff are requested to come forward and provide information to deal with the perpetrators,” the Loreto Limuru Alumni Association stated.

The association also recommended mental health and psychosocial support for the affected and closer collaboration between the Board of Management and the Parents’ Association to ensure accountability and protection of students.

This comes after a protest by Alliance Girls High School alumni on 10th July 2025 where they accused a male teacher of prolonged sexual misconduct. Despite police presence, the protest was held outside the school, raising concerns over TSC’s response to previous complaints.

In response to Alliance Girls allegations, Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok said, “That teacher will be punished and interdicted. We have talked to TSC and all other stakeholders to ensure he is arrested.”

The Ministry of Education, TSC and the respective Boards of Management are expected to give updates on the ongoing investigations and disciplinary action.
