Chaos as Kisii MP Storms Hotel, Attacks Civilian Over Alleged Love Affair
A dramatic confrontation unfolded in Kisii town after a sitting Member of Parliament allegedly stormed into a popular hotel and assaulted a civilian believed to be involved with a woman linked to the lawmaker.
The incident, which occurred on the morning of Thursday, November 27, left patrons stunned as the MP allegedly confronted the man during breakfast in what witnesses believe was a dispute fueled by a suspected love triangle.
CCTV footage from the hotel shows the legislator entering the premises and heading straight to the man, who was seated at a table. The video captures the lawmaker speaking animatedly, pointing at the civilian, and moments later the confrontation escalates into a physical altercation.
Hotel staff and diners attempted to separate the two, but the scuffle continued for several minutes. At one point, the MP is seen attempting to stomp on the civilian’s torso, further heightening the chaos. The footage also shows him slapping another individual who tried to calm the situation.
Speaking during a press briefing on November 30, the alleged victim recounted the ordeal, claiming the MP confronted him while loudly demanding respect and accusing him of having an affair with the legislator’s girlfriend. He further stated that he sustained injuries from the assault.
According to the victim’s legal team, a formal assault complaint was filed at Kisii Central Police Station on November 27, but no action has been taken against the lawmaker so far. The delay has raised questions from the victim’s lawyers, who insist all required procedures, including the issuance of a P3 form, have been completed.
“We have had a P3 form filled, every procedure has been done, but the police are yet to detain the culprit who assaulted our client in Kisii, with unknown people in Java, Kisii town,” said the victim’s lawyer, Bernard Atancha.
The legal team further claims their client’s safety is at risk, alleging the MP may still be attempting to intimidate or harm him.
This incident comes months after two MPs were involved in a confrontation on parliamentary grounds, raising renewed concerns about misconduct among lawmakers.
