When Do the 2026 KCSE Examinations End?
According to the published timetable, the 2026 KCSE examination period runs from October 19 to November 20.
The schedule includes oral, practical and written papers, with different dates and durations depending on the subject. Candidates should not assume that every subject follows the same timetable or examination format.
Some practical and project components have their own arrangements, while written papers are scheduled in morning and afternoon sessions as indicated in the official document.
How to Read the KCSE Timetable Correctly
The timetable includes several details that candidates must check before each examination.
1. Examination date: Confirm the exact day and date of the paper.
2. Subject and paper code: Make sure the subject and paper number match the examination you are registered for.
3. Session: Check whether the paper is scheduled for the morning or afternoon.
4. Duration: Note how long the examination lasts.
5. Special instructions: Read any subject-specific instructions provided by KNEC and your school.
Candidates should also follow instructions from their school administration concerning reporting times, examination rooms and approved materials.
What Time Do KCSE Papers Start?
The official timetable states that first-session papers start at 8 a.m. and second-session papers start at 2 p.m., as indicated against the relevant papers.
The duration of each paper is specified in the timetable. Candidates should check the individual paper entry rather than assuming all examinations last the same amount of time.
No additional time should be assumed beyond the period authorised for the examination. Candidates must follow the official instructions and any permitted arrangements applicable to them.
What Should Candidates Do Before Each Paper?
Candidates should confirm their next paper using the official timetable, revise the relevant topics and prepare the materials permitted for that subject.
It is advisable to organise approved stationery in advance, get sufficient rest and arrive at the examination centre according to the school’s instructions.
Candidates should avoid relying on unverified social media timetables because an incorrect date or paper code can cause unnecessary confusion.
