KeNHA Issues Public Notice on Thika Superhighway Closure This Weekend
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) said it will close a section of the Thika Superhighway at Juja Highpoint this weekend to allow for road maintenance works.
In a public notice on Thursday, KeNHA said milling and recarpeting works will take place between Saturday, November 8, and Sunday, November 9, from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. A second closure is scheduled for November 15 to 16 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
The agency said both Nairobi-bound and Thika-bound traffic will use adjacent service lanes during the works.
“Motorists are advised to exercise caution, follow the traffic management plan, and cooperate with police and marshals on site,” KeNHA said in the notice signed by Acting Director General Eng. Luka Kimeli.
A traffic map released by KeNHA shows diversions near Centurion Highpoint Mall. Fuel stations will remain accessible via service lanes, while pedestrian crossings have been shifted for safety.
KeNHA said the works are part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve one of Kenya’s busiest transport corridors.
