NCRC and KRA Cancel Key Job Vacancies as NSSF, KICD & KUCCPS Launch Recruitment
In a mixed development for job seekers in Kenya’s public sector, two key government agencies have cancelled planned recruitments, while three others have rolled out fresh opportunities. This shift comes as qualified Kenyans continue to seek stable employment amid ongoing public service dynamics.
NCRC Cancels Multiple Vacancies Announced in 2025
The National Crime Research Centre (NCRC) has officially scrapped a major recruitment drive originally advertised in August 2025. In a public notice posted on the MyGov platform on February 3, 2026, the Centre declared that all positions listed at that time are no longer valid and have been cancelled.
The affected roles spanned senior management, research, and administrative functions. They included high-level posts such as Assistant Director Research, Assistant Director Finance, Assistant Director Human Resources, Principal Planning Officer, Senior Research Officer, Senior Administrator, and Senior Knowledge Management Officer. Lower-tier positions cancelled were Human Resource Management Officer, Supply Chain Management Officer, Accountant, Legal Officer, Internal Auditor, Corporate Communications Officer, Records Management Officer, and Office Administrator.
No specific reasons were provided for the decision. NCRC urged applicants to stay alert to the change and reminded the public that it remains an equal opportunity employer. The Centre strongly warned against canvassing or falling for fraudulent recruitment schemes, advising job seekers to trust only official announcements from NCRC channels for any future openings.
KRA Pulls Back on Deputy Commissioner Role
Similarly, the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has withdrawn an advertisement for the position of Deputy Commissioner in charge of Cargo Scanning and Monitoring. The role had carried an application deadline extending into December 2026. KRA has not yet issued a detailed explanation for the cancellation.
