Primate Ayodele Tells Gachagua to Drop 2027 Presidential Bid, Back Gen Z’s Pick

Nigerian prophet Primate Ayodele has told Kenya’s Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to forget about his 2027 presidential ambitions and instead support whoever the Gen Z generation backs.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Ayodele, the head of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church said only the youth—especially Gen Z—can remove President Ruto from power. He warned that any attempt to challenge Ruto without the support of young voters will be futile.

“Kenya: the former deputy president coming to contest will not yield anything. Ruto will use all his power to return to his seat, even if he has to rig. It is only the Gen Zs that can get him out by bringing out a candidate,” Ayodele said.

He told Gachagua to direct his resources and influence towards the candidates the younger generation loves, saying that will be the way to move the country forward.

Ayodele’s comments come after Gachagua announced he will be vying for the presidency in 2027. He said if elected he will abolish the housing levy, transfer ongoing housing projects to counties and compensate Kenyans who had already contributed to these projects.

Political analysts had speculated the United Opposition will front a ticket of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Jubilee’s Fred Matiang’i with Gachagua as the kingmaker in the race.

Primate Ayodele first made headlines in Kenya during the 2022 elections when he predicted Ruto’s first-round win over former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. At the time he told Ruto to focus on strategic engagement with Mount Kenya voters, women and youth to win.

Despite being criticized for past wrong prophecies, Ayodele says his prophecies are based on divine guidance which he shares publicly.
