Alumni Mount Protest Calling for Interdiction of Teacher Accused of Sexual Exploitation at Alliance Girls High School

Protest at Alliance Girls School Over Claims of Sexual Abuse by Long-Serving Teacher.

Police were deployed on Thursday, 10 July 2025 to maintain order as Alliance Girls High School alumni demonstrated peacefully outside the school’s main gate over alleged sexual abuse by a veteran teacher.

The alumni wore white shirts and carried placards with messages including “Protect the Girls, not the Predators” and demanded the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to take immediate action on reports of sexual exploitation in the school.

In a statement during the protest, the group asked for the teacher to be interdicted according to the TSC Code of Regulations for Teachers. They also demanded the teacher be suspended from all duties including his role as Christian Union patron pending the conclusion of investigations.

The demonstration was held after a former student came out and alleged the teacher had been sexually exploiting students despite several appeals for him to be removed from the school’s staff. The student said the teacher was still serving in a prominent position in the school despite these reports.

Police were seen securing the school perimeter and controlling access to the premises to ensure the demonstration was peaceful.

Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya (FIDA-Kenya) in a statement dated Monday, 7 July 2025 condemned the alleged misconduct as “shocking and heartbreaking” and said they are ready to offer legal and psychosocial assistance to affected individuals.

TSC has not responded to the demands by the alumni or the allegations in the recent exposé.
