Even as the smoke engulfed the rally, Sifuna was quick to address the growing anxiety among supporters. “You will not disrupt our meeting. Why are you throwing teargas at us? Relax so that we can continue with the meeting. Stop threatening us,” he stated, moments before another canister was reportedly thrown.
The calm demeanor of the ODM senator did little to prevent the rally from being interrupted. Media personnel also faced disruptions, making coverage of the event challenging.

Despite the chaotic scene, the rally saw a strong turnout. Thousands had gathered in Kitengela to receive their leaders following a church service at St. Peter’s Orkeju Emunyak ACK Church earlier in the day.
