10,000 Police Jobs: NPSC Announces Eligibility Criteria and Application Timeline

The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has announced the recruitment of 10,000 police constables countrywide, just days after presenting its 2025/2026 recruitment plans to the National Assembly’s Committee on Internal Security.

According to a notice released on Friday, September 19, the recruitment exercise will be from October 3 to October 9, and all Kenyans are encouraged to apply.

“The National Police Service Commission is seeking to recruit suitable individuals to be trained as Police Constables, in accordance with the Constitution of Kenya and relevant national laws,” the notice read.

Corruption, including bribery or submission of false information, will not be tolerated. Offenders will face fines of up to Ksh 200,000 or imprisonment for up to two years. The public is advised to report any recruitment malpractice to local police stations or call 0709090000, 999, 911, 112, or 0800722203.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged between 18 and 28, have a valid national ID, and have at least a D+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), with a minimum of D in both Kiswahili and English.

Physical requirements include a minimum height of 5 feet 8 inches for males and 5 feet 3 inches for females, and general physical fitness. Applicants must have a clean record, with no pending criminal charges. Female applicants must not be pregnant at the time of recruitment.

Graduates of the National Youth Service (NYS) meeting these criteria are encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

Interested applicants can download application forms from official websites, including npsc.go.ke, dci.ke, administrationpolice.go.ke, kenyapolice.go.ke, nationalpolice.go.ke, and mygov.go.ke. Physical forms are also available at local Huduma Centres.

Applicants should present themselves at designated recruitment centres in their constituencies with the following documents:

  • Academic certificates and testimonials
  • Kenyan National Identity Card
  • Birth Certificate
  • NYS discharge certificate, where applicable, with a minimum rating of “GOOD”

All original documents will be returned before applicants leave the recruitment centres. The exercise will be from 8 am to 5 pm countrywide during the specified dates.
