Evangelist Lucy Wa Ngunjiri Declares Babu Owino a “Future President” During Church Event
Evangelist Lucy Wa Ngunjiri of Prayers Beyond Boundaries (PBB) Ministries has stirred fresh political debate after publicly declaring that Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is destined to become Kenya’s president.
The outspoken preacher made the remarks during a recent graduation ceremony in Nairobi, where the ODM legislator had been invited as the chief guest. Addressing the congregation, Wa Ngunjiri praised the MP’s determination and described him as a leader whose political trajectory, in her view, extends far beyond his current parliamentary seat.
Introducing Owino to the crowd, Wa Ngunjiri said:
“Our chief guest, Mheshimiwa Daktari Babu Owino, is not only the Embakasi East MP but also a future president of this nation. For those of you who know, you know.”
Her declaration triggered loud applause from the audience, many of whom appeared supportive of her bold prediction. The evangelist went on to state that Owino needed only “minor adjustments” to reach the country’s highest office.
“He only needs to do a few things, just a few adjustments,” she added. “But according to me, you are a future president of this nation.”
Wa Ngunjiri further urged the MP to remember her prophecy should it eventually come to pass.
“When you get there, remember there is an evangelist in Kenya who is beyond boundaries and who prophesied for you,” she told him.
Babu Owino, known for his energetic political style and strong youth following, has previously spoken about his long-term political ambitions but has not formally declared interest in the presidency.
Lucy Wa Ngunjiri is a well-known media and religious figure, hosting the popular Itaha Ria Muoyo prayer-breakfast programme on Kameme FM. She also leads the Ngong-based Prayers Beyond Boundaries Ministries, where she serves as founder and general overseer.
Her remarks are likely to fuel further speculation about Owino’s political future, particularly within the ODM party, where succession conversations and future leadership prospects continue to draw public interest.
