Even in Death, Raila Odinga Will Be on the Ballot Come 2027 – Kasmuel
Activist Kasmuel McOure says Raila Odinga’s political ghost will haunt Kenya’s 2027 General Election even after he’s gone.
Speaking on a local TV on Tuesday, October 31, McOure said Raila’s politics is deep rooted and will still be felt in 2027.
According to him, President William Ruto’s biggest competition will not come from any emerging politician but from Raila’s legacy, values and political machinery.
“The only competition President Ruto would have faced was Raila Odinga,” McOure said. “If the President chooses to honour Raila Odinga’s legacy he will win over his voter base. If he goes against it he will face serious challenges.”
McOure praised the late opposition leader for building a political movement anchored on justice, inclusivity and resilience — qualities that still inspire millions of Kenyans.
“It’s still Raila because he will be on the ballot in 2027 in terms of his ideals, the machinery he set up and legacy,” he said.
He urged President Ruto to preserve Raila’s legacy if he wants to maintain political stability and expand his support base across the country.
Political analysts have echoed the same sentiments, saying Raila’s ODM and Azimio coalition are still powerful forces as the country heads to the next election.
McOure’s comments have sparked debate on how Raila’s politics and his die hard supporters will shape Kenya’s electoral and governance landscape in the years to come.
