Gov’t Opens 400 Internship Slots in ICT Under DigiTalent Programme
The government has launched the recruitment of 400 ICT interns through the 10th cohort of the Presidential Digital Talent Programme (PDTP).
The programme is designed to nurture young professionals who are passionate about technology and public service, and offers them a 12-month placement across government agencies and private sector partners.
According to DigiTalent, successful candidates will get hands-on work experience, mentorship and networking opportunities, and sharpen their technical skills and career focus.
The internship opportunities are in the following fields:
- Network and Digital Infrastructure – 150 positions
- Software Development & AI – 100 positions
- Information Security – 50 positions
- Multimedia & Digital Marketing – 50 positions
- Data Analytics – 50 positions
To apply, you must have graduated with a First or Upper Second-Class Honours degree from January 2023 onwards. If you are graduating by December 2025, you must provide a university recommendation letter, officially signed and stamped, stating the class of degree to be awarded.
Eligible fields of study are ICT, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, and Systems or Software Engineering. You must also have knowledge in your area of specialisation and may be required to undergo technical competency assessments before the interviews.
Other requirements are that you are Kenyan, 21-29 years old, unemployed and not have participated in any government internship before. Selected interns will also be required to work full-time, 8:00am to 5:00pm, in any public institution within the 47 counties.
The programme encourages applications from women, persons with disabilities and graduates from arid and semi-arid regions.
