The announcement has sparked widespread speculation, coming at a time when questions continue to mount over the future of opposition unity, coalition leadership and the process of identifying a joint presidential candidate to challenge President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election.
Pressure mounts over opposition flag bearer

During a coalition meeting earlier this week, the alliance unveiled a revamped leadership structure aimed at strengthening its organisational framework.
Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi was named National Chairperson, while Martha Karua became Deputy Chairperson.
Kalonzo retained his position as coalition leader, with Eugene Wamalwa serving as deputy coalition leader.
