KNEC Opens Registration for November 2026 Business and Technical Exams, Announces Strict Deadlines

KNEC Opens Registration for November 2026 Technical Exams as Candidates Face Strict Online Deadline

Thousands of students pursuing business and technical courses have been put on notice after the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) officially opened registration for the November 2026 national examinations, while warning that only online applications will be accepted.

In a fresh announcement, the examinations council confirmed that registration for institutional candidates sitting Business single and group subjects is now underway through its official online portal, marking the beginning of one of the most critical stages in the national examination calendar.

The November 2026 Business and Technical examination series is scheduled to run between November 16 and December 4, 2026, with candidates required to complete registration before they can be recognized as eligible to sit the examinations.

“Registration for the November 2026 Business and Technical examinations is now open through the KNEC online registration portal. No manual registration will be accepted,” the council announced.

The directive means institutions across the country must immediately begin verifying candidate details and submitting registrations electronically, as KNEC moves to streamline examination management and eliminate paperwork.

The registration exercise is more than a routine administrative process. It officially confirms a candidate’s eligibility for the examinations and paves the way for the release of examination timetables, practical assessment arrangements and other mandatory examination materials.

For colleges and technical training institutions, the registration period also triggers several key responsibilities, including verification of student records, submission of Course Work Assessment (CWA) and project marks, preparation for practical examinations and compliance with KNEC’s examination regulations.

Alongside opening registration, KNEC released a comprehensive timetable outlining critical milestones institutions must observe before the examinations begin.

According to the examination calendar, the deadline for submitting Course Work Assessment (CWA) and project marks for the November 2026 examination series is October 23, 2026, giving institutions only a limited window to finalize candidate records.

Institutions will also collect advanced instructions for practical examinations on October 12, 2026, ahead of practical assessments and the commencement of theory papers later in November.

In addition, KNEC provided an early roadmap for the next examination cycle, announcing that registration for the July 2027 Business and Technical examinations will run from March 1 to May 7, 2027, while the examinations themselves are scheduled between July 19 and August 6, 2027.

The council further outlined milestone data entry timelines covering the November 2026, March 2027 and July 2027 examination series, saying the schedule is intended to help institutions complete all administrative requirements within the stipulated deadlines.

KNEC urged institutions and candidates to complete registration as early as possible and strictly observe every deadline, warning that failure to comply could interfere with examination preparations and other mandatory processes.
