Pauline Njoroge Quits Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party in Major Political Shift as She Joins Linda Mwananchi Movement
A significant political realignment has unfolded after communications strategist Pauline Njoroge announced her resignation from the Jubilee Party, ending a 14-year association with the political outfit led by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a lengthy statement explaining her decision, Njoroge described the move as one of the most difficult choices of her political career, insisting it was not a rejection of her past but the beginning of a new chapter shaped by her convictions about Kenya’s future.
Her departure comes at a time of heightened political activity ahead of the 2027 General Election, with the rapidly growing Linda Mwananchi movement attracting several high-profile political figures and activists.
Pauline Pays Tribute to Uhuru Kenyatta
Despite stepping away from Jubilee, Njoroge reserved warm praise for former President Uhuru Kenyatta, describing him as far more than a political leader.
She credited the former Head of State with mentoring her throughout her career and entrusting her with responsibilities that transformed her into one of Kenya’s most recognisable political communicators.
Njoroge said the experiences she gained over the last 14 years equipped her with strategic communication skills and a deeper appreciation of public service.
“I am especially grateful to the Jubilee Party Leader, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta, who has been more than a leader to me. He has been a mentor, a teacher and a political father. He believed in me, entrusted me with responsibility and invested in my growth,” she said.
She further acknowledged that Uhuru’s leadership extended beyond domestic politics, exposing her to governance and leadership experiences across Africa and internationally.
“Beyond the opportunities he gave me here at home, he also exposed me to leadership and governance experiences across Africa and internationally, broadening both my perspective and my understanding of public service.”
Why Pauline Njoroge Is Leaving Jubilee
While expressing gratitude to Jubilee, Njoroge revealed that she has quietly been working with the Linda Mwananchi movement since February this year.
According to her, the platform has strengthened her belief that Kenya requires a new generation of leadership anchored on constitutionalism, accountability, good governance and servant leadership.
She argued that the movement represents an opportunity to pursue the aspirations of young Kenyans seeking reforms in governance and public leadership.
“Since February this year, I have had the privilege of being part of the Linda Mwananchi movement. Over the months, my conviction has only grown stronger that this movement represents an important platform for advancing the aspirations of our generation: a Kenya founded on good governance, the rule of law, constitutionalism, accountability and servant leadership.”
Backs WANTAM Political Call
Njoroge also declared her support for the growing WANTAM campaign, saying the initiative represents more than a change in political leadership.
Instead, she argued it is a broader movement advocating national renewal founded on integrity, constitutionalism and people-centred governance.
“This same conviction aligns me with the broader WANTAM call, a call not simply for political transition but for national renewal anchored in integrity, constitutionalism and people-centred leadership.”
“A Difficult But Necessary Decision”
Although leaving the party that shaped much of her political journey, Njoroge insisted she remains deeply appreciative of the opportunities she received under Jubilee.
She maintained that her resignation should not be interpreted as a rejection of her previous service but rather as a necessary transition into a new political phase driven by evolving convictions about Kenya’s future.
Her announcement is expected to fuel further speculation over possible political realignments ahead of the next General Election as emerging movements continue attracting experienced political operatives from established parties.
