Nairobi City County Announces Inspection Schedule for Weighing and Measuring Equipment
Nairobi City County has released the schedule for the inspection and stamping of weighing and measuring equipment from August to November 2025.
All traders with weighing and measuring instruments must submit them for inspection at designated centers on specific dates. Stamping will be done at police stations, social halls, chiefs’ offices, shopping centers and county offices across sub-counties including Westlands, Kibra, Dagoretti, Langata, Roysambu, Kasarani and Embakasi.
According to the county notice, traders within a 20km radius of these locations are required by law to have their equipment inspected and stamped. Equipment over 500kg will be tested on site due to logistical challenges of moving them. Traders with such equipment are required to notify the County Director of Weights and Measures in writing, providing details of the type, capacity and location at least 3 days before the scheduled inspection.

- Embakasi Central: 18th-22nd August
- Embakasi East: Soweto Social Hall 25th August-2nd September
- Kasarani: 3rd-22nd September
- Roysambu: Zimmerman Chief’s Office (23rd Sept), Lumumba Drive (24th Sept), Marurui Chief’s Office (25th Sept), Rasters (30th Sept), Ngumba Shopping Center (2nd Oct)
- Langata: Nairobi West NCC Offices (7th Oct), Soweto Social Hall (8th Oct), Kenya Business Verification Hall (9th Oct), Ngei Chief’s Office (14th Oct), Karen Ward Office (15th Oct)
- Kibra: Kibera DO’s Office (16th Oct), Lindi Chief’s Office (17th Oct), Sarang’ombe Chief’s Office at Ngomongo (21st Oct), Laini Saba Chief’s Office (22nd Oct)
