Kisii County Senator Richard Onyonka has announced the death of his mother, Mama Teresia Nyaboke Omoke, who passed away while undergoing treatment at Aga Khan University Hospital.
In an emotional statement shared on his official Facebook account on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, the legislator confirmed that his mother died at the age of 81.
“I regret to announce the passing on of my beloved mother, Mama Teresia Nyaboke Omoke, who departed this life today at the age of 81 years while receiving treatment at Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi,” Onyonka said.
The senator paid tribute to his late mother, describing her as a central figure in his life and family, and a woman whose values shaped those around her.
“Mama Teresia was a devoted mother, a pillar of strength to our family, and a woman of great faith, humility, and wisdom,” he added.
Her death marks a significant personal loss for the Kisii senator, who has yet to announce details regarding funeral arrangements or memorial services.
