Sifuna unveils packed second-day Kakamega tour as Linda Mwananchi movement steps up 2027 grassroots drive
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has unveiled a packed programme for the second day of the Linda Mwananchi movement’s grassroots mobilisation tour of Kakamega County, with Sunday’s activities set to culminate in a major political gathering at Lumakanda.
Sifuna, one of the leading figures associated with the movement, announced the programme on Saturday, August 8, 2026, as the political team continued its mobilisation drive across Western Kenya.
The second day of the tour is expected to combine religious engagements, public meetings and political rallies, with leaders scheduled to make several stops across Kakamega before ending the day in Lumakanda.
In a statement shared on social media, Sifuna appeared to strike a light-hearted tone while urging supporters to prepare for another busy day.
“Ama mshachoka? Kesho tuanze na misa kama kawa…alafu tumalizie hukoooo Lumakanda kwa Bokanda,” Sifuna said.
The programme released by Linda Mwananchi indicates that Sunday’s activities will begin with a church service at the ACK Cathedral in Mumias Town.
Political engagements are scheduled to begin at 10am in Mumias, followed by a visit to Navakholo Market at noon.
The team is then expected to proceed to Malava Town at 2pm before making its final stop at Lumakanda at 4pm.
The tightly packed itinerary will take the political leaders through several parts of Kakamega County in a single day, highlighting the movement’s focus on taking its mobilisation campaign directly to local communities.
Sifuna and allies intensify Western Kenya push
The Kakamega tour forms part of a wider grassroots mobilisation campaign by Linda Mwananchi as political activity begins to intensify ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Sifuna’s reference to “Bokanda” and his playful question about whether supporters were already tired appeared to signal his intention to maintain momentum despite the demanding schedule.
