State House Responds After TikToker Claims No Youth Got Ruto’s Boda Boda
State House has finally responded to claims that no youth received boda bodas during President William Ruto’s Nairobi Youth Empowerment programme.
In a social media post, State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said 11,000 youth in Nairobi were awarded motorbikes.
Mohamed explained that the 1,100 registered groups from the capital submitted proposals, all of which were approved, funded and delivered. “Each group had 10 members with a chairperson who oversaw the project for a smooth process. That’s 11,000 individuals in total,” he said.
He expressed his frustration saying isolated complaints should not overshadow the bigger picture.
“…Their formula: 2 voices outweigh 11,000 recipients and that equals ‘unfulfilled promises’. Unbelievable! But here’s the silver lining: 11,000 more people now know how stories can be twisted,” he added.
The post came hours after two young men, Dickens Odhiambo and Collins Otwalo, who attended Ruto’s event, claimed they never received boda bodas.
Speaking on Friday, August 16, Odhiambo said he posed for a photo with one motorbike but was told it would be delivered to his residence. He said he has yet to receive it and is questioning the president’s promise. Odhiambo shared his experience on social media saying the visit to State House changed his life.

The TikToker, also known as Kamau wa Kisumu, revealed he started receiving calls from unknown numbers warning him about his viral video.
He said he was asked to retract his statement online and say he had received the motorbike. Odhiambo said he has since been cautious, fearing for his life.
He said he spoke out so Kenyans could know his situation, saying if he had remained silent his life could have been in danger.
When nominated senator Karen Nyamu was asked about the issue, she said all the youth she sent to State House received their motorbikes.
